In an effort to recruit and retain quality school bus drivers, Cassopolis Public Schools is offering a $1000 signing bonus for all new school bus drivers hired before August 29, 2022. The signing bonus will be paid in two installments of $500 each on February 1, 2023 (after one semester of continuous service in good standing) and June 30, 2023 (after one school year of continuous service in good standing).
In addition, the district will offer a $1000 retention bonus for all current school bus drivers who continue to serve the district in good standing through the 22 – 23 school year (to be paid in the same two installments on 2/1/23 and 6/30/23).
The district will also offer a $500 referral bonus to current school employees who refer someone to become a new school bus driver. A single referral bonus will be available when that referral results in a new driver that is successfully trained and drives regularly through the 22 - 23 school year.
We are looking for some more great people to join our transportation family. We are hopeful that these incentives will help us overcome our current bus driver shortage.
Our bus drivers are an important part of our staff. They are the first and last faces our students see every school day.
